This is an eight-minute video showing the highlights of the SU Battle of Dance interclass dance competition organised by the Students’ Union of SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School (Hong Kong). The event was held during the Christmas Assembly on 23 December 2008. In the video, I tried to create an upbeat mood and show the hard work the students put into their preparations (and the fun they had while rehearsing). I would like to thank the performers and the Students’ Union for their hard work and cooperation. I hope this video can reflect their efforts.

One of the aims of the making the video was simply so that I could learn how to use the video editing software that had been purchased for the school’s studio. The following software was used during the production of the video:

  • Premiere Pro CS3 (editing)
  • Procoder 3 (file conversion)
  • Goldwave (audio editing)
  • Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio 7 (multi-track audio recording, for the music in the title sequence)
  • iClone 3 (animation, for the title sequence )

The footage was taken by myself (the rehearsal scenes and the close-up shots of the first four groups), Tommy (the shots from the balcony) and  Galen (the close-ups of the last four groups).

 

SU Dance & Sing Show (March 2010)

Highlights of the SU Dance-sing Show, an intramural singing and dancing contest organised by the Students’ Union of SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School (Hong Kong). The event was held during the Christmas Service assembly on 21 December 2008.

I would like to thank the performers (the dancers and singers) and the Students’ Union for their hard work and cooperation. I hope this video can reflect their efforts.
