Soft and Relaxing Background Music: Chillout and Ambient

These songs have a laid-back, electronic feel to them. A lot of my composition fall into this chill-out category. These songs tend to work quite well as background tracks because they are relatively unobtrusive with some songs bordering on ambient. These chillout tracks may be used for non-commercial purposes; simply provide the credit: music by longzijun,  except of course for those songs featured guests. In such cases you should credit the musician who created the work (follow the crediting guidelines on that song’s download page). For more information, you can refer to the  Terms of Use.

Dreams (10:40)

This is most popular song in the Background Music series so far. It works well with a wide range of videos. For MP3 and WAV file download links, go to:

Note: A rapper that goes by the name X’es Evol’i  has ripped off this song and is using an excerpt of it as an into in his online album. If you get a copyright claim, you should dispute it. The instructions are here: Disputing Content ID Matches on my Songs.

Chillvolution (4:45)

This track has a laid-back, jazzy, hip-hop groove. It is suitable for vlogs as it is upbeat and the melody is unobtrusive, so the song won’t distract viewers for what you are saying. For MP3 and WAV file download links, go to:

Wild Illusion by Nikolaos Taramanidis  (5:43)

This solo acoustic guitar instrumental, which is composed and performed by Nikolaos Taramanidis, has echoes of Pink Floyd. The song has two parts. The first part of the song is gentle; the second half, starting at 3:11 is more of arock ballad with a hint of blues. For MP3 and WAV file download links, go to:

    • Yes, for the videos with the music visualizer (it is mentioned in the video description). It is great visualizer programme and I would love to keep using it so I could save time on video and concentrate on the audio. However, as I will probably be monetizing the videos on YouTube, I won’t be able to keep using it for videos.

  1. I love the “Dreams” it’s really great and i have used it in many of my films. Too bad, you don’t have any more longer (10min+) songs!

  2. I also used Dreams in a short video made up of pictures of Chatuchak Park, in Bangkok, Thailand. The music seems to fit the video perfectly. I would love to use more stuff of yours in future videos. I really like this soft ambient style as I think it suits videos set in parks and beautiful places. You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6Udn5lnjvM I have added credits and links in the video and description. Thanks!
