These are photos I have taken of dance performances. Dance is a subject I would like to explore more in my photography.
The Hong Kong Ballet
The Hong Kong Ballet performed excerpts from their version of the Great Gatsby at the Freespace Happening Jazz Fest in November 2019. The performance, with its lively jazz score and dramatic choreography, was exciting. The story seemed to go well with the backdrop of Hong Kong’s office buildings glittering in the late-afternoon sun.

These two photos are of a contemporary dance performance by Sarah Xiao at the Pekin Fine Arts gallery in 2019.
Nimkii Osawamick (Chris Derksen Trio)
Nimkii Osawamick is an Ashinnaabe hoop dancer who performs in the Chris Derksen Trio (with Cellist Chris Derksen and drummer Jesse Baird. These two photos are from a performance by the trio at Freespace Happening in January 2019.
Lee Chan
These photos were taken when I was collaborating with Lee on a couple of my music videos: Broken in 2016 and The Hidden Path in 2014.
Ottawa
I took these two photos outside the National Art Gallery in Ottawa, Canada. A contemporary dance group was giving a performance.
