School Dancing & Singing Competitions

Occasionally, I will shoot and edit footage of school intramural events such as the following dance and song shows and competitions:

Hip-hop Dance Performance: God is a Woman & Made for Now (July 2019)

The dance team at SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School perform a Hip-hop routine set to God is a Woman (Ariana Grande) and Made for Now (Janet Jackson & Daddy Yankee). I shot this video during the school’s student-teacher fun day in March 2019. Kevin Yin provided the drone footage.

Contemporary Dance Performance: Nothing Else Matters (March 2019)

The dance team at SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School perform a contemporary dance routine set to Apocalyptica’s cello quartet version of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters (composed by James Hetfield & Lars Ulrich). I shot this video during the school’s student-teacher fun day in March 2019.

SU Dance & Sing Show (March 2010)

This video features Highlights of the SU Dance-sing Show, an intramural singing and dancing contest organised by the Students’ Union of SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School. The event was held during the Christmas Service assembly on 21 December 2008. The footage was shot by school studio team members Tommy Wong and Stephen Yau. I edited the video and recorded the audio.

Battle of Dance (Jan. 2009)

This is an eight-minute video showing the highlights of the SU Battle of Dance interclass dance competition organised by the Students’ Union of SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School (Hong Kong). The event was held during the Christmas Assembly on 23 December 2008. In the video, I tried to create an upbeat mood and show the hard work the students put into their preparations (and the fun they had while rehearsing).

One of the aims of the making the video was simply so that I could learn how to use the video editing software that had been purchased for the school’s studio—Premiere Pro CS3 (video editing), Procoder (file conversion), Goldwave (audio editing), Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio (music production) and iClone 3 (animation). The footage was taken by myself (the rehearsal scenes and the close-up shots of the first four groups), Tommy (the shots from the balcony) and Galen (the close-ups of the last four groups).
