Student Music – Originals and Covers

This page will feature a series of music videos that I’ve been working on at the school where I teach. Three students are featured so far: Kate, Babbles, Wan Ho-ying and Heitung, Eric and Annie . The purpose of the series is to allow students to share their love of music and help them develop as performers and songwriters. For the first several videos we recorded the audio first, often with overdubs, and then the performed lip-synced to the audio track when shooting the video. These days, however, we are just recording the performances live, so you will likely hear more mistakes, but everything looks and soundss more natural

  1. i love the talent i came accros Wan Ho-ying iwe are looking for a hero cover song for a non profit sustaintability video series i thought if you could have a good version of the song hero by enrique iglesias could use and help promote your student here is the site where they are being posted we just raised money for 4000 backpack for students in florida

  2. Hi Jose

What is the time frame? That is, when would you need the song/video to be completed by? (the singer you mentioned has just gotten braces, so she won’t be singing for a little while).

By the way, publishing a cover version without permission of the songwriter(s) breaks copyright laws (YouTube gets around this by having an arrangement with royalty collection agencies to put advertising on the videos and pass the revenue on to the collection agencies).
